Center Planning September Meeting Agenda

Center Planning and Development Council
Tuesday, September 25th, 2018
7:00 pm
Trailside Center, 9901 Holmes Road, KCMO 64131

1) Mary McCall, our South Patrol community interaction officer (CIO) will provide a crime report for our area.

2) Roxane Hill, Executive Director of the Wonderscope Children’s Museum, will present the final plan for the museum. Last year, their plan was combined with the Red Bridge Library, however, the final plan does not include the library. The museum will be a 30,453 square foot one-story building on 4.5 acres on the southeast corner of East Red Bridge Road and Oak Street. An existing daycare center and small parking lot are currently on the site.

3) Steve Bell purchased the property on the NE corner of State Line Road and Red Bridge Road. He would like to have outdoor weddings on his property and wants to hear what the community thinks of this idea. The zoning would stay residential.

4) SE corner of Holmes and Bannister Rd: What was once a garden/nursery appears to be a used car lot which is not permitted under current zoning. We would like to give the owner our current suggestions regarding what would be acceptable to the community. The property contains .69 acres and is zoned for business. Bring your ideas and suggestions to the meeting.

5) John Sharp, our former 6th District Councilperson, will give an update on a proposed ordinance that would eliminate the city doing background checks of employees of the liquor industry.

We look forward to seeing you at this month’s meeting!
